GARDEN CLUB: There will be a SW School Garden Work Day this Friday, March 16th, from 9am to 3pm. Snacks and lunch will be provided! We will also be working in the School gardens on Saturday, March 24th. Please join us to help in gardens!
BOOK CLUB: Come see a Wrinkle in Time Thursday 3/15 after school. Students should find their own ride to the theatre and be picked up at Culver's right after the movie.
MATH CLUB: Our next meeting will be Monday 3/19/18. All students interested in participating in the KCATM math contest please see or email Ms Husted by TODAY, March 13th. The competition is Saturday March 24th. You can compete as an individual or on one of the Southwest grade level teams.
TECH TEAM: Any 6th or 7th grade student interested in joining Tech Team, please see Coach Schneider in room 227 for an application.
BOYS TENNIS:Try outs are this week Monday 3/12/18 thru Thursday 3/15/18 from 3:15 pm-5 pm. Students must have all five (5) athletic forms into the office before they can participate.
YEARBOOK:It's not to late to order your Southwest Yearbook for the 2017-18 school year. Yearbook's are on sale now for $25 until April 15th then the price will go up to $30.
SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITY (8th grade students):The SWMS School Garden is looking for three or four reliable "Student Gardeners" to work regularly in, and help promote the SWMS School Garden. Applications for these paid positions are now available in the front office, or Mr. Kennard’s room 704. One application requirements is to volunteer at least 2 hours in the School Garden. Weekly workdays are tentatively scheduled for Saturdays in March. Please check with Mr. Kennard for more details.
BULLDOG SERVICE CHALLENGE: This year’s "Give Ike a Bone" Bulldog Service Challenge is on! The grade level that fills their portion of IKE (on the wall outside the Gym) by April 15th, will win a special privilege. The Advisory with the most service hours (one per grade level) will win a McDonalds breakfast treat. Each hour of volunteer service earns Ike a Bone!
CHEER/POM/DANCE/MASCOT: Try out packets are available in the Main Office for any 8th grade student interested in being on the LHS or FSHS squads. Students will also need a teacher recommendation. Be sure to pay attention to requirements and deadlines.
