The Lawrence Schools Foundation and Lied Center of Kansas are proud to announce the second annual, district-wide talent show for middle and high school students on Sunday, January 21, 7:30 pm.

At the event, there will be a wide range of talents represented, including dancers, contortionists, trapeze artists, instrumentalists, singers and more. Students participating in Ovation! were selected through an audition process and will share their amazing talents on the main stage of the Lied Center with full production. Brian Hanni, the Voice of the Jayhawks, will again be the master of ceremonies for the event.

Ovation! proceeds will benefit the Lawrence Schools Foundation. The Foundation is the only non-profit in Lawrence and Douglas County whose sole purpose is to provide support and resources for the Lawrence Public Schools. The Lawrence Schools Foundation provides students and teachers with enrichment experiences, scholarships, teacher recognition and classroom support, innovative teaching grants and partnerships with community organizations and businesses through their LEAP programs.

“Last year’s event was a huge success and we are excited to see what's in store for this year’s show," said Dena Johnston, executive director of the Lawrence Schools Foundation. "We are constantly amazed by the level of talent from our students, and so grateful for the partnership with the Lied Center in allowing our students from across the district to showcase this on the big stage."

The event is being sponsored by The Dentists in Lawrence, CEK Insurance and the Lied Center of Kansas.

Tickets to Ovation! are available at the Lied Center Ticket Office on weekdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., in person or via phone at 785-864-2787. They are also available online at lied.ku.edu.
