Back to School 20/21
Back to School for 2020-2021: The district is working hard to have a plan in place for the beginning of the school year to keep all of our families safe while having a great year of learning.
Fall planning - Note from the Superintendent: School to Start with Distance Learning
School will start on September 8th This will provide time to have staff professional development and preparation for the roll out of our initial 6 week virtual learning in order to keep students and staff safe while learning. Virtual parent/teacher conferences will occur prior to the start of school, August 31-September 3. The board also directed that the school year begin with six weeks of 100% distance learning to be evaluated with public health data on September 28.
The Kansas State Board of Education accepted KSDE's “Navigating Change: Kansas’ Guide to Learning and School Safety Operations” document. Follow the work of teachers and staff serving on the Lawrence Public Schools' Together Again: Fall 2020 Planning Task Force at www.usd497.org/TogetherAgain.
