To support a smooth opening for all Lawrence elementary school buildings, the school district has identified two schools with high-need populations, New York and Woodlawn Elementary Schools, to pilot the elementary AB/AB hybrid learning model beginning October 22.
New York and Woodlawn are also among the district's smallest schools. With some of their school families choosing distance learning, and due to the hybrid AB/AB rotation schedule, only about a third of their students will be on-site at one time. Group A will return to the building for a total of four instructional days and Group B for three days prior to November 9, when all elementary schools transition to hybrid learning.
