The Lawrence Board of Education on August 8, 2022, contracted with consultant RSP & Associates to provide school boundaries, community development, and housing analyses, as well as facility utilization and enrollment projections. RSP also will facilitate a Futures Planning Community Engagement process to develop recommendations to the board about aligning student needs with the board's strategic plan and available resources, including curricular and financial resources.Rob Schwarz, RSP founder and CEO, explained that this will be a community-oriented process, backed by data, for examining solutions that will improve students’ academic experience. He outlined a six-month process of committee meetings, school board updates, public input sessions, and a community survey. This Futures Planning Community Engagement process will begin in September and conclude by February 2023.
