Hi, my name is Ben Johnson and I am a special education teacher in the ED/BD classroom at Lawrence High. This is my 10th year at Lawrence High and my 2nd year teaching. I was a paraeducator in the autism and ED/BD rooms for 8 years prior to becoming a teacher.

I work with some great colleagues, such as my co-teacher Ruben Markstrom. The social worker for special education who assists our students who I rely upon greatly is Mrs. Santelli. We also have many paraedcators in our classroom who help in so many ways. They travel to classes with students and assist with homework, classroom expectations, as well as data collection for assisting with behavior and academic goals.

I went to KU for undergrad and majored in Psychology. I am currently attending Fort Hays State for a Master's Degree in High Incidence Special Education, and will be graduating in 2021. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, disc golf, basketball, and bicycling. I recently bought a house with my partner Jamie, and have a wonderful cat named Jerry.
