Inclement Weather Make-Up Plan
Making up Necessary Instructional Hours
This plan will make up instructional hours necessary to meet state requirements for the 2025-2026 school year. This follows our use of nine inclement weather days due to health and safety concerns this winter.
Key Elements of the Plan
- The 2024-2025 School Calendar includes April 21 as a designated inclement weather make-up day. All schools will be in session April 21. Since the calendar includes, and our district plans to use, this make-up day, the state “forgives” an equivalent day.
- The addition of 15 minutes to the end of every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday school day for the remainder of the school year, beginning March 24.
- The addition of 25 minutes to the end of every Wednesday school day for the remainder of the school year, starting March 26.
- Thursday, May 22, will expand from a half-day to a full day of school for all students.
- The addition of a midday early dismissal final school day on Friday, May 23. Principals will share specific dismissal times based on individual school schedules with their school communities.
There will be no end-of-year adjustments for seniors; however, our district expects seniors to attend the additional minutes outlined above in the make-up plan.
