Hello! My name is Grace Howerton and this will be my fifth year of teaching. I taught 3rd grade for the first two years of my teaching journey. I was really passionate about exploring the special education side of my degree so my 3rd year not only did I come to Prairie Park but start that journey. This will be my 3rd year in special education and I am enjoying it! Being able to help students in and out of the classroom while working with their general education teachers really makes me feel like we are making a community. We are making an inclusive space for our students who are identified as special education. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy drawing, writing, trying new restaurants with loved ones, taking long walks, and going to museums. I currently live in Lawrence with my cat Sunny.
