Mrs. Danielle Bechard
Hi! My name is Danielle Bechard, this is currently my second year as a kindergarten teacher and second year at Deerfield as well. I have worked previously before my teaching career for the Lawrence Public Schools as a para educator while I was attending Fort Hays State University to recieve my Elementary Education degree. Prior to attending FHSU, I attended the University of Kansas where I graduated with a degree in Community Health in 2010. Just before I graduated from KU is when I learned my heart was and had always been in teaching, so I returned to school to follow my dream!
Originally, I am from Hutchinson, Kansas. A small town in the middle of the state. However, I moved to Lawrence in 2006 and have since felt as though this is my true home. My husband and I met while attending KU and we married last May, 2014. Together, we have our "pet" child, Lola. Lola is a yellow lab who loves playing fetch, going for an evening run, and swimming! Our family also bleeds crimson and blue as we are HUGE Jayhawk fans. Come basketball season, you will most likely find us at Allen Fieldhouse! Rock Chalk!
As for the classroom, I believe in differentiated instruction in order for all learners to become motivated and successful. This will be my second year as a blended learning teacher, this teaching style allows for me to blend technology as well as traditional face-to-face instruction into the classroom. Students can, in part, control the pace for which they learn as well as the style in which they feel most successful with. I have provided a link below for more information in regards to blended learning.
