HS Special Education

Hello, my name is Cara Smith. I started with LVS in February 2022. I taught for 12 years at USD 259 in Wichita, KS, all in Special Education in both elementary and high school. My last 5 years of teaching in Wichita were in a life skills program for 18-21 year-old students.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Wichita State University and my Master’s degree from Emporia State University in Adaptive Education. I also hold endorsements in Early Childhood Unified, Functional Special Education, and English for Speakers of Other Languages.

I live in Andover, Kansas, near Wichita, with my husband and dog. I enjoy taking walks, watching movies, and visiting my niece in Overland Park.
