Hello Families!
I am excited to be part of the Broken Arrow family. This is my 14th year in Lawrence Public Schools, and my 23nd year of teaching overall. I taught 10 years of middle school ELA in California and New Mexico before moving to Kansas in 2007 to attend KU. After studying to become a licensed reading specialist, I discovered that I really enjoy teaching reading to younger students. I have also done Orton-Gillingham training (2017) and am a certified Barton Reading and Spelling tutor (2020). Although reading is my passion, I am excited about teaching math as well.
When I am not teaching (and learning), I love spending time with my little dog Freddie, hiking at Clinton Lake, riding my bike, sewing, playing board games, and hanging out with friends and family. Lawrence is a great place to live, learn, and grow!
