I have been teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing for 25 years and students who are blind or visually impaired for ten years. I am blessed to work with amazing students, families, and school staff in the Lawrence Public Schools, and especially at Woodlawn. I teach students to use technology and compensatory strategies to access the curriculum and grow academically, socially, and emotionally, despite their vision and/or hearing impairments. I am amazed every day by the strength and perseverance of my students. When I am not working, I enjoy running, walking my dog, watching football, and hanging out with my daughter, who is a graduate student at KU.
