Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Chris Marshall

I am very happy to be back teaching PE at Woodlawn.  It has been almost 20 years since my first time teaching here.  This is my 30th year working for USD 497.  I started as a Para back in 1992 and started teaching PE in 1995.  I have worked at 10 different Elementary schools in my 27 years.  I am currently the Head boy's and girl's Head Tennis coach at Lawrence High School.  This is my 13th and 11th year as Head coach of those sports.  I was also an assistant coach for boys tennis from 96-2001.  Before coaching tennis I was a Middle school football coach.  I coached 8th-grade football at Southwest MS from 95-2005, and Central in 2006 and 2008, and 9th in 2007.

I moved to Lawrence in 1987 to go to the University of Kansas.  I grew up in Salina, Kansas, and played football, played tennis, and dived for Salina Central High School.  I graduated from KU in 1992 and am a fifth-generation Jayhawk.  I live with my wonderful wife Jennifer and we have a 6th-grade son who attends West MS.  We also have 2 dogs, both are Yorkies.  I enjoy watching and attending KU basketball and football games.  I support our local sports teams.  GO CHIEFS!
