My name is Leigha Becker. This is my 20th year teaching  and most of those years have been in 2nd grade. I have a BS degree from Kansas State University with an emphasis in Art and Special Education. I started my career in KCMO public schools and then moved to Lawrence. I took some time off to stay home with my 2 boys before returning to Lawrence in 2020.  2nd grade is a magical year for students; we are moving through the learning to read, and  entering the reading to learn phase of education.  It is an exciting time.  I look forward to the year ahead!
