My name is Coleen Martin and I will be your child’s teacher. I’ve lived in Lawrence most of my life and attended the Lawrence Public Schools (Centennial, Cordley, Central, and LHS) growing up. I received my undergraduate degree from Emporia State University with a major of elementary education and minor of early childhood education in 1995, and my master’s degree from Baker University in 2003. This coming year will be my 26th with the Lawrence Public Schools during that time I have previously taught eleven years of Kindergarten, eight years of 1st grade, one year of 2nd grade and four years of 5th grade (and 6th grade social studies). I love being a teacher, getting to know your family and teaching your child(ren).
Outside of school I love spending time with family and friends, especially my nephews Drake and Wesley who attend school in Baldwin. In the community, I volunteer for committees that help raise funds for the Lawrence Memorial Hospital and local children’s charities.
