My name is Coleen Martin and I will be your child’s teacher.  I’ve lived in Lawrence most of my life and attended the Lawrence Public Schools (Centennial, Cordley, Central, and LHS) growing up.  I received my undergraduate degree from Emporia State University with a major of elementary education and minor of early childhood education in 1995, and my master’s degree from Baker University in 2003.  This coming year will be my 26^th with the Lawrence Public Schools during that time I have previously taught eleven years of Kindergarten, eight years of 1^st grade, one year of 2^nd grade and four years of 5^th grade (and 6^th grade social studies).  I love being a teacher, getting to know your family and teaching your child(ren). 

Outside of school I love spending time with family and friends, especially my nephews Drake and Wesley who attend school in Baldwin.  In the community, I volunteer for committees that help raise funds for the Lawrence Memorial Hospital and local children’s charities.
