Hello Bulldogs! I am Mrs. Lendt and this is my first year at Southwest Middle School as one of your band directors. I am excited to be part of the Bulldog Band Family and to help you learn to love music. My passion is teaching and sharing music with people of all ages. My teaching career began in Iowa where I taught 5th grade through high school band for 4 years.

My main instrument is the French horn. My husband Gavin also plays the horn and writes music. Together we co-founded the Kansas City Horn Club. 
My son Alex, who is now 23, played the horn all throughout middle school and high school. We had our own family horn trio.
When I am not teaching or making music I enjoy exploring the great outdoors and traveling around the country with friends and family.

My goal this year is to guide you through mastering your musical instrument as well as teaching important skills you will use throughout your life. 
Together we will make this a fantastic school year!
