Hello! My name is Angie Proffitt and I love my job as a Speech-Language Pathologist! I’ve been a SLP for 10 years and have worked in the school setting going on six years. I’m from Wichita, Kansas and received my Bachelors in Psychology from Wichita State University and my Masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders from WSU as well. I’ve worked in skilled nursing facilities with the elderly population and in early childhood with children birth to three-years-old. I enjoy my full-time job within the school setting but also enjoy the medical side of being a SLP. I work at Lawrence Memorial Hospital PRN as a SLP in the ICU, post acute care, skilled nursing, and acute rehabilitation. This past summer, I worked at LMH Pediatric Health Therapy Services part-time with children 18 months to 13 years-old. Additionally, I work for Interim as a PRN SLP with the elderly population in a home health setting.
My daughter and I live in Lawrence, KS. We have a yellow labrador that loves going to the off leash dog park at Mutt Run. My daughter attends Free State High School and will be entering her Sophomore year. We love Lawrence and like to check out live music, dance, art, restaurants, and shop downtown. I make stained glass in my free time and hopefully will participate in some art shows in the future.
I’m excited to get the opportunity to help your children with speech and language needs! Please feel free to contact me at: Angela.Proffitt@usd497.org or 785-832-5880 ext# 2478 with any questions, comments, or concerns.
