Emergency Text Notifications

Upon completion of the New Student Registration or Annual Registration process, which includes providing cell phone contact information, parents/guardians and high school students will be enrolled in emergency text notifications.

    Generally, within 3-7 days, the cell phone number(s) you provided during registration should receive this text: "You're registered 4 SchoolMessenger notifications. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Msg&data rates may apply. Msg freq varies. schoolmessger.com/txt" 

    If you decide that you do not want to receive emergency text notifications from your child's school and the Lawrence school district, reply "STOP" to unsubscribe.

    If you accidentally unsubscribe and want to re-enroll in emergency text notifications from your child's school and the Lawrence school district, text "YES" on the same text thread to re-enroll.

    Lawrence schools and the school district's communications office will use text messaging sparingly and only to relay emergency information.

    Whether message and data rates apply depend on your personal cell phone service plan. Please contact your service provider with any questions or for more information.

    NOTE: The New Student Registration or Annual Registration process is not complete until all required documentation is provided. 

    In order to complete the New Student Registration process, please visit the Enrollment Center with the following required documentation:

    • Birth Certificate
    • Immunization Records
    • Proof of Residency (Acceptable documents include: current gas, electric or water bill, lease agreement or contract on new home, or motor vehicle registration. We do not accept cable, phone or miscellaneous bills.)
    • If your student is 9 years old or younger and entering a Kansas school for the first time, documentation of a physical exam within 12 months of school entry is required.

    In order to complete the Annual Registration process involving a change of address, proof of residency is required. (Acceptable documents include: current gas, electric or water bill, lease agreement or contract on new home, or motor vehicle registration. We do not accept cable, phone or miscellaneous bills.)

    Upon final completion of the New Student Registration or Annual Registration process, if you have not received the initial text from SchoolMessenger within seven days, please contact your student's school office for assistance.
