Welcome back. Hope you enjoyed your break and got some reading in. Remember we are meeting Thursday evening, January 16th in the Library at Schwegler from 6-7 pm. Hope you can join us.
We are so glad you have decided to join us in the Schwegler Book Club. For the next 2 months starting in December 2019 we will be reading The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies. Below is some helpful information for you and please check back here weekly as Mrs. Shellhorn will post a writing prompt for the week and possibly other fun activities that you can do together at home. Remember to check out our face book page @SchweglerElementary often to see a few chapter readings from some of our very own Schwegler staff!

To the left you will also find the suggested reading plan and calendar.
We will be meeting as a group if you can make it on January 16th from 6-7 pm and then for a final meeting on February 4th from 6-7 pm at Schwegler. We will talk about the book, do an activity together and share a snack at the end.
There are discussion and trivia questions here for you to check out and answer together as a family while you are reading. If you would like a paper copy and don't have a way to print, just let Mrs. Shellhorn know and she will get you a copy of the questions.
Here are some vocabulary words that go along with each chapter heading that you may want to discuss together.
You may want to start your own The Lemonade War journal to record your thoughts as you are reading or to write your predictions for the upcoming chapters. If you need a notebook to use for a journal, please let Mrs. Shellhorn know and she will get you one. You can also make your own journal with some scrap paper or an old spiral notebook that isn't full yet.
