Degrees and Certifications:
Coordinator of Virtual Education
I spent the entirety of my 30 year teaching career in the Olathe Public School District. I started in 2nd grade, moved to 5th, then taught high school Chemistry and Physics. I finally landed in 8th grade as the lead science teacher where I stayed for 19 years! I can honestly say that my career, thus far, has been an amazing and unforgettable journey. I was also able to attend amazing conferences, help write curriculum, create science kits and activities for the elementary schools, adopt new district science text books, participate in the schools building leadership team, I was assistant principal for summer school, was awarded over $15,000 in grants for our science classroom and was the 7th grade volleyball coach.
I am a KU graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Education, a Masters of Science in Education and a Masters of Science in Educational Leadership. I have two amazing young men that call me mom! They are adulting in their own worlds which gives me time to devote here to LVS as well as to the hobbies and activities I love most. Those include time at the lake floating and relaxing, reading, working in my yard and mostly enjoying time with family and friends laughing!
At LVS, my absolute favorite place to be is in the classrooms with teachers and students. I am committed to working with LVS students and families along their education journeys, utilizing the best resources and working together to meet every student's individual needs. This drives me and I am honored to be here at LVS with all of you!
