High School Art/Electives
I joined LVS in 2019 and teach high school art and electives. I have taught visual art at the elementary and secondary levels, ranging from rural to large urban school settings. I have taught in Iowa, Minnesota, California and Kansas. I was also the Visual Art Coordinator for the San Diego Unified School District. I was fortunate to have an office at the beach! Additionally, I have ten years of home study experience as an Educational Facilitator and Site Coordinator with Julian Charter School in San Diego. I have also worked in higher education in college admissions at Augustana College (Rock Island) and as a research assistant at the University of Oregon. I hold my B.A. degree in Art Education from the University of Iowa and my M.A. in Educational Leadership from Pt. Loma Nazarene University (San Diego).
As you can see, my husband and I enjoy moving to new places. We chose to relocate to Lawrence for the quality of life it offers. We take full advantage of living in a university community.
I thoroughly enjoy supporting student learning in and through visual arts! My partnership with homeroom students and families focuses on helping students be successful at LVS.
