Educate Lawrence is a parent legislative advocacy group dedicated to educating Lawrence citizens about legislation affecting public schools and advocating for full and fair funding to educate Lawrence children.

Educate Lawrence was formed in 2012 by then-Superintendent Dr. Doll to help Lawrence citizens better understand proposed state legislation and the possible effects on our local schools. In the past, we have held rallies for education, forums, informational sessions, and red carpet welcome back events for our teachers, administrators, and staff.

We recruit members from each of our schools who disseminate information about legislation and policy affecting public education to their school communities. We also seek to inform the greater Lawrence community and encourage everyone to contact our state and local representatives when appropriate. To stay up-to-date regarding current legislation and policies, please check out our links page and sign up for our email alerts.

The Lawrence Public Schools does not advocate for a particular political stance, candidate, or party, but encourages community engagement in the legislative process and support for public schools.
