My name is Alex Smith, and I am the Autism Specialized Classroom Teacher at Quail Run! The 2022-2023 school year marks my 7th year of teaching in a special education classroom and my 10th year working in a special education setting. My passion is helping students reach their unique potential, so I feel very lucky to be working in this setting.

Outside of teaching, I live in Lawrence with my boyfriend and our two dogs, Bella and Honi. We love Saturday morning walks at the Clinton Park Dog Park, grilling outside on our new deck, and all things Chiefs football! During school breaks, we travel to our 2nd home in Roatan, Honduras. There we love to scuba dive, and we have been lucky enough to see some amazing underwater creatures!

I am extremely excited to start my 5th year at Quail Run. I have a feeling we will make a lot of growth this school year, and have a lot of fun while doing so!
