I began teaching in 1997 after graduating from Haskell Indian Nations University.  I am married (Steven) with 3 children (Audrey, Kristian, and Marissa) and 3 grandchildren (Truth, Loyal, and Valor).

My classroom environment is an eclectic mix of an “old school” view on behavior with a modern twist.  I would describe my manner of discipline as a warm disciplinarian.  I have high expectations for behavior and academics.  I am your child’s teacher first, friend second!  Students are expected to show respect for adults and fellow classmates through their actions and voice.  Discipline occurs with firm and consistent actions.  In addition, I will balance out the discipline with love, support, and humor.  The modern twist comes from my view of a classroom environment where students find seating that allows them to be comfortable while learning, rather than traditional seating: rows of desks or assigned seating at tables.  PBL is also the modern twist on learning.  I believe the “old school”-modern blend creates a strong learning environment for your students.
