• student singing student, staff, and community award winners The ONE DREAM Committee continues to work to plan a safe and meaningful way to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in January 2021.

    In the meantime, the Committee encourages nominations of deserving students, colleagues, and community members for the annual MLK Awards. ONE DREAM celebrates and honors the vision of Dr. King while recognizing current student and adult leaders making diligent efforts to bring his dream to fruition.

    MLK Heart of Service Award - This award is presented to students, USD 497 staff, and community individuals or groups making a significant impact on the community through volunteering and or going above and beyond job responsibilities.

    MLK Dreamer's Award - This award is presented to a student and an adult who have the courage to envision and encourage change among friends, family, and community.

    MLK Character Award - This award is presented to Pre-K, elementary, middle, and high school students who demonstrate character through the maintenance of integrity and the balance of respect and responsibility.

    MLK Champion of Equity Award - This award is presented to students, USD 497 staff, and community individuals for their compassionate and courageous efforts to create a diverse community and to bring about systemic change aimed at promoting justice and equity.
