I am from nearby Baldwin City where I attended Baldwin High School. I was a 3-sport athlete throughout my high school career which kept me very active and interested in overall health. I attended The University of Kansas and was part of the volleyball team. After graduating with a BSE in Health and Physical Education I was a substitute teacher in USD497 while I continued my volleyball career by playing eight years professionally. I have played in over five different countries for nine different teams. After retiring from playing overseas, I obtained my certification in Family and Consumer Science and have been the FACS teacher at Billy Mills Middle School since 2017. My experiences abroad have given me tools and philosophies from several different backgrounds. I like to use the things learned from all over the world to create an engaging and relevant curriculum in the health world. I look forward to working with the students at Billy Mills this year!
