    Good morning LHS:

Attention!  If you are a graduating male attending the University of Kansas in the fall of 2020 please see Mrs. Bradfield in student services for a Scholarship opportunity.

Tryouts for next year's cheer and pom squad will be held at the end of this month.

There will be a pre-tryout parent informational meeting for parents on Wednesday, March 18th at 6:00pm in the Library. Tryout packets are available in the main office.

Listen up - parking, Parking, PARKING!  For those of you who have been saving your ROAR tickets for preferred parking, this is your day! Put your tickets gold box in the Main Office.  One drawing per week will be held, with the prize being a front-row parking spot for the next week!  Remember, you must hold a valid driver's license and have an LHS parking permit in order to win AND this prize is not transferable to another driver.  If you're not interested in parking, you can still win gift cards to McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, or Panera. Thanks to all who are meeting the school-wide expectations of Respect, Our Best Effort, Academic Achievement, and Responsibility.

Staff and Students, we are in full swing for "Sight for Third World Countries." Bring your gently used prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses to rooms 210, 101, Mod 4, 206 and the Library for the entire month of March. Give the gift of sight to someone who can't afford to see without your glasses.

Do you need a summer job?  Like being outside and watching baseball?  Coach Stoll is looking for a tournament director!  Games are on the Fridays-Sunday at the LHS baseball field. For more information, please talk to Coach Stoll.  And remember, it's a great day to be a Chesty Lion.

NHS wants your pants!! We are sponsoring a denim drive for Habitat for Humanity.  The collection box is in the main office.  The denim will be repurposed, so any condition is perfect to donate!

AVID Seniors are back at it again with another Service Learning Project. We are partnering with the Lawrence Lions Club. Starting March 2 we will be collecting gently used prescription eyeglasses, and prescription sunglasses to send overseas to third world countries. Make sure that you place a piece of tape on the glasses letting us know the prescription, so that it will be easier to give them out. Remember, if you don't need them

anymore, someone else does. Drop-off locations are: Mr. Miles Rm. 210, Mrs. Henry Rm. 206, Student Services Rm. 101, Ms. Oswald Mod 4, and in the Library.

    Good morning LHS:

Did you know Multitasking is a myth? Research shows that when you’re doing two things at once, your brain is actually just switching between tasks very rapidly. Every additional task you do while driving detracts from your ability to drive well and increases your chances of having a collision? Want more facts about teen driving? Come by the SAFE table during lunch today to get more information about the program, free stuff & a chance to win a LHS Hoodie or t-shirt for pledging to always wear your seatbelt. See you soon!!!
