    • Emergency Safety Intervention (ESI)

Emergency safety intervention is the use of seclusion or physical restraint on a student. An emergency safety intervention should only be used when the student presents a reasonable and immediate danger of physical harm to him/herself or others.  Lawrence Public Schools encourage proactive, preventative strategies to ensure a safe learning environment for all students and staff.

The table of contents below includes the Lawrence Board of Education’s Policy on Emergency Safety Intervention, along with informative documents on Emergency Safety Intervention. Click on one of the topics below to view the document.
