Mr. Greg Bonsignore
Greg Bonsignore teaches English 10/Appreciation of Lit. and Literacy Workshop at LFSHS. Previously, he supported kindergarten through 12th grade teachers of English Language Arts as a "Teacher on Special Assignment". Before that he lived in the Chicago area where he taught for 14 years, mostly with the Chicago Public Schools. As Reading Specialist and English/Language Arts instructor he has taught students at every level from 3rd through 12th grade. Though he has never taught kindergarten students, he has helped them with opening juice boxes and getting down from monkey bars and the like, and he thinks that should count for something. He received an undergraduate degree in English Education from The University of Iowa and his Master's degree in Reading from National-Louis University. In 2013 he became a National Board Certified teacher. In his free time he enjoys playing and singing the song "Wild World" for his six-year old niece, though he is wary of the day when she understands what the lyrics mean. You may notice him standing underneath the U.S. Bank sign on 6th street where he distributes water to the cross country runners and monitors them for signs of overheating.
