My name is Kim Neises and this is my 16th year of teaching. I am starting my 9th year at Deerfield and previously taught at Schwegler. I am excited to teach a mix grade class this year. Previously I have taught kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 2nd grade. I have my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Masters Degree in Curriculum and Teaching, both from the University of Kansas. Rock Chalk Jayhawk! I also have my endorsement in teaching English as a Second Language.
I became a teacher because I believe that a teacher can make the difference in how a student grows. My goal is to help create life-long learners who value their individual qualities and strengths. Every student is unique and special. I have a passion for the arts, traveling, and history. I try to incorporate these into my teaching and connect our learning to the world.
I am originally from Lenexa, Kansas, but I have lived in Lawrence since 2002. I am married and have twins. They both attend Deerfield elementary and we love living in the Deerfield neighborhood.
