    FREE STEM RESOURCES
KU offers free STEM activities on Saturdays (about twice a month). These are geared toward different age groups (1-3, 4-5, 6-8, 9-12). Some cater to girls only. This is a fantastic opportunity for students and families in our district. Check them out on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pg/sparkatku/about/?ref=page_internal.

ONE DREAM NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR ANNUAL MLK AWARDS

ONE DREAM is an event to celebrate and honor the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., while recognizing current-day leaders who are making diligent efforts to bring his dream to fruition. This celebration is a collaboration between the Lawrence Public Schools and multiple community entities. The event is FREE and open to all staff, students, parents and community members. The ONE DREAM Committee's efforts have moved this ceremony to include multiple cultural tributes and connections to Dr. King's work across all races. A gallery at the beginning of the event explores history, engages in interactive activities, and helps attendees learn of community activities in which to be involved. The 2019 ONE DREAM event will be January 24, 2019, in Southwest Middle School's auditorium at 6:30 p.m.
