Hello and welcome to first grade! This is an exciting year for your children as they make new friends and develop academic skills that will help them to develop a lifelong love of learning. We are off to a great start and I am very excited about being their teacher! 

This will be my 25th year of teaching; 15 years in kindergarten, 9 in first grade, and one in second grade. I completed my undergraduate degree at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, and my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in reading at the University of Kansas. I am also a licensed English as a Second Language teacher and I worked as a bilingual (Spanish/English) teacher for many years in both Arizona and North Carolina.
