I am so happy to begin my fifth year as a Firebird!  This year I teach Graphic Design 1 and 2, Digital Design, and Drawing 1. Before I came to Free State High School I taught elementary art in Austin, TX. Prior to that I taught both elementary and middle school art in Chicago, IL. I received my Bachelor's of Art Education degree from The University of Kansas in 2006.  I am a native Kansan, graduated from Shawnee Mission South in 2002, and had my first son here in Lawrence on New Year's Eve 2016.  My son's name is Ozymandias (aka Oz), and my husband of eight years is Brandon. We are a silly little family who play and laugh a lot.  You may see me around other establishments in Lawrence.  I teach group fitness classes at Body Boutique, as well as other art classes like animation and digital illustration at the Lawrence Arts Center during the summer.  

Art inspires me everyday; to communicate, to feel, to learn, to express, to grow, to connect, to collaborate. My hope is to provide you, my student, opportunities for the same inspiration. I truly believe that this is possible for every human being, regardless of their background. Let's have some meaningful fun this semester and create things we want to see more of in this world!
