I studied history and social studies education at KU while working at the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics archive. I wrote my senior research thesis on Haskell's role in the transformation of Native American education. As a 2013 graduate, I was hired at LMCMS as an Instructional Support Assistant and provided math interventions for primarily 7th and 8th grade students. I caught the math fever and successfully acquired my math education certification for middle grades and was so pleased to return to LMCMS in my own math classroom! Go Mustangs!
I grew up an hour away in Atchison, KS (home of Amelia Earhart and one of the most "haunted" towns in Kansas!) where my mom, step-dad, brother, sister, dog, and two cats still live. I also travel to San Jose, CA, when I can to visit my dad, step-mom, and their three dogs.
I spend my free time playing computer games, reading, appreciating dogs (well, most any furry creatures, really), competing in a trivia league, watching Netflix, singing in a local choir, and noticing "golden rectangles" everywhere!
