Degrees and Certifications:
I grew up in a small town in southern Johnson County, Kansas. Both of my parents were educators for 30 years, and I grew up in the public school system. I attended Johnson County Community College for my Associates of Arts. I received my Bachelors in Music Education from Baker University and my Masters of Arts in Education from Baker University this past May 2014. I am currently applying for Doctoral programs to further my education.
This is my tenth year of teaching where I spent the first five years in the Emporia school district working at a local charter school in a one to one K-8 program Virtual and Project Based Learning Environment. This is my fifth year at LVS working at the High School Academy. I am currently teaching Music and FACS. I also teach the ACT Test Prep as well as working as the Student Services Advocate. I also co-sponsor AMP Club, Yearbook Club, National Honor Society, Game Club as well as Coffee House Night, Jam sessions, and the many school activities we host throughout the school year!
I am passionate about what we do here at LVS, and I am happy to be here helping students navigate this virtual world!
