Lawrence Schools Foundation Staff Awards
Each year district teachers and staff are recognized through with various awards through the Lawrence Schools Foundation. Nominations from staff and the community are accepted for each of the first three awards. An award to a certified teacher or para-educator who goes the extra mile to help kids who need it most. The $5,000 award is typically presented in December.
Two awards given to a teacher or school administrator who has made outstanding contributions to our students. One award is provided at the elementary level and one at the secondary level. The awards are $1,500 each and are presented at the Foundation Follies in April.
A teaching honor created by community leaders who share the first name Bob. The award includes $10,000 and is typically presented in May.
Recognizes and applauds classified employees whose efforts benefit students, faculty and staff, and others within and outside the USD 497 community. Two honorees selected in the fall and two in the spring.
Presented to a New York Elementary teacher recognized by peers to possess great skill in the art of teaching and demonstrates the virtues the New York staff strives to instill in their students. Presented in the spring.
This award is presented to a teacher at Lawrence High School based on nominations from the school's honor students. The award is presented at the school's annual Senior Recognition Ceremony in the spring.
