Degrees and Certifications:

Emily Gilbertson

Homeroom Teacher/ASL/Onboarding Specialist

This will be my sixteenth year teaching and my ninth year with LVS. I had the honor of being a parent/learning coach for my oldest daughter who was a student at LVS in 2009, so I understand what it's like for students on both sides of the computer! I am so grateful to be part of such an amazing group of teaching staff and to be able to serve students in Kansas in such a unique way.

I am originally from Central Minnesota. I moved to Kansas to attend MidAmerica Nazarene University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Since then, I also received an endorsement to teach English to speakers of other languages from Emporia State University, and a Master’s Degree in Education/Education Technology from Peru State College.

I have many interests, but most enjoy hiking, running, swimming, attending musical concerts/plays, and travel.

I hope to make a difference in the lives of the students I work with throughout the year at LVS!
