I am incredibly excited to transition into my new role as the Director of Elementary Schools. Serving as the principal of Woodlawn Elementary has been a great joy and honor, allowing me to appreciate the beauty of its historical facility and the wonderful community that makes up the Riverhawk family.
I began my career in Geary County Schools, teaching 2nd and 4th grades. Following that, I served as an assistant principal at Seitz Elementary in Fort Riley, Kansas, and as assistant director of the Lawrence Virtual School. These roles provided valuable leadership experience and deepened my understanding of the importance of fostering a supportive school culture.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in math and science and a graduate degree in Educational Leadership, both from Kansas State University. I am a doctoral candidate at Capella University, furthering my commitment to educational excellence and leadership.
Before my career in education, I served as a medic in the U.S. Army. This experience instilled a profound sense of discipline, teamwork, and dedication. These qualities now drive my unwavering commitment to providing our students with a quality educational experience.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as the Director of Elementary Schools for Lawrence Public Schools. I am excited to collaborate with the elementary principal team to lead our shared commitment to serving our students, staff, and community. Together, we will ensure that every student receives the care and support they need to be their best.
