Jeanne Fridell
  • Welcome to Woodlawn Elementary!   We have a wonderful, caring school community and we all want what is best for our students.

In 2010, Woodlawn was honored as a National Blue Ribbon School, for our commitment to achievement and to ensuring that students learn and succeed.  This recognition was achieved through the hard work of our outstanding students, an expert and dedicated staff of caring professionals, active and involved parents and a supportive community.   This award acknowledged our continued focus of meeting the needs of our student population and providing them with rigorous, standards-based instruction while recognizing students’ individual needs. Together as a learning community, we are committed to working hand-in-hand toward the success of all our children.

This past year, all Lawrence elementary schools worked with KU staff to build a CI3T Plan. The CI3T refers to a comprehensive, integrated, three-tiered (CI3T) model of prevention that includes academic (response-to-intervention), behavior (positive behavior interventions and support), and social/emotional (e.g., Positive Action) components to support all students.

    Our school-wide expectations are:

    • Respect Yourself and Others
    • Respect Class Time
    • Respect Property

Together we form a strong partnership.  I encourage you to participate in school activities and special occasions as well as volunteer in your child’s classroom as your schedule allows. I look forward to continuing to work with you this school year and many school years to come.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 785.832.5920 or email me at jfridell@usd497.org.

    With kind regards,

    Jeanne Fridell
