Boys and Girls Club is an after-school program held here at New York Elementary. When students are dismissed at the end of the school day, they report to their assigned area for Boys and Girls Club. Parents can pick up students anytime between school dismissal and 6PM.

What we do: Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence saves and changes the lives of children and teens, especially those who need us most, by providing a safe, positive, and engaging environment and programs that prepare and inspire them to achieve great futures.

Key Programs: Power Hour (homework time), triple play (health and fitness), SMART Moves (comprehensive prevention program that helps build resiliency and strengthen leadership skills), and Torch Club (service learning).

Clubs: We offer various clubs to introduce children to different things including, but not limited to: chess club, soccer, volleyball, basketball, art club, math club etc.

Partners: We partner with various different organizations around town to help bring entertainment for the children. Thus far, we have partnered with 4H for cooking and art classes, Lawrence Arts Center, Pet World, Prime Martial Arts, and a company out of Kansas City, Team Xtreme (strongmen devoted to anti-bullying). We take field trips to various different places and just have fun.
