April Cook (Hart)
3rd Grade Teacher
Start with equal parts Reading and Math. Add in Science, Health, and Social Studies then fold in Writing and Work Stations. Layer with technology use and positive discipline, and finally, sprinkle liberally with singing, dancing, and laughing. This is the perfect recipe for our Third Grade classroom!
Hello! I’m April Cook (Hart) and I’ve been a part of the Sunflower family for eight years of my twenty year teaching career.
I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree from Pittsburg State University and then completed my Master’s Degree at the University of Kansas (Go Jayhawks!).
This year, I have had the opportunity to participate in the district’s blended learning classroom approach. With the use of computers and Ipads, my students have been able to extend and enrich their learning through a variety of online resources and video lessons relevant to district and Common Core curriculum.
When I’m not at school having fun with my Third Graders, I enjoy reading, watching KU basketball, teaching Zumba classes, trying to learn how to cook, and just doing things that make me smile.
Please feel free to stop in and visit our classroom at any time. We always enjoy adding a dash of guests to our class recipe!
