Lisa Parnell graduated from Topeka High in Topeka, Kansas, and then received a bachelor's in curriculum and instruction at the University of Kansas. She later also earned a master's degree in education at KU and her ESL endorsement.
Lisa began her teaching career in 4th grade at Deerfield School, and has now been teaching at Schwegler since the 2000-2001 school year. She has taught 6th grade for 2 years, 4th grade for 12 years, and in 2017-18 became a Title reading and math teacher for the 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms. She now teaches intervention groups with 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.
Lisa lives in Lawrence with her husband and three children. All three of her children are former Schwegler Cubs and Lawrence High Lions. The oldest two graduated from KU and are a computer programmer and an aerospace engineer, and the youngest is studying math at Washburn University.
