Mr. David Williams

My career in elementary education spans over 31 years in three states, four cites four positions and five different schools. While this has provided many new opportunities what I have enjoyed the most are the students, parents and staff that I have had the privilege to get to know and work with. I am very pleased and proud to have spent the last thirteen years of my career here at Prairie Park.

In 2001, it was my honor to become a part of this community and school.  I have truly enjoyed working and learning in partnership with many talented teachers, supportive staff members and parents as we have worked to create a school we are proud of. Prairie Park is a very special part of this community and I look forward to continuing our work to provide the students in our area the best educational opportunities.

Educational Background:

In 1984, I graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln with a degree in Human Growth & Development and Elementary Education. In August of that year I began my teaching career teaching second grade at Howard Kennedy Primary Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  I worked three for three years.

In 1987, my wife and I moved to Arizona and I started a new job as a third grade teacher at San Marcos Elementary in the Chandler Unified School District.  I was with Chandler Schools for 13 years and served in both classroom and administrative positions. While in Arizona, I attended Arizona State University and received my Master’s Degree in Elementary Counseling with and endorsement in Administrative Leadership.

In 2001, my wife and our three sons made the decision to move back to the Midwest to be closer to family.  I was very fortunate to be hired by Lawrence Public Schools and have worked for the district as the principal at Prairie Park Elementary School for the last 13 years.
