Mrs. Angela 'Angie' Silvers

Mathematics Teacher

This is my 9th year teaching at Lawrence High School. This year I will be teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, and AVID (10th Grade).

I graduated from Lawrence High School and the University of Kansas.

I currently live in Baldwin City with my husband, Tim, three children, Emily (14 yrs.), Ty (11 yrs.), and Luke (7 yrs.), and a “chi-weenie” dog named Daisy.

My personal learning style is very visual, which means that I learn best from examples, diagrams, pneumonic devices, procedures, etc. I am often able to connect with my students who typically struggle in math by using these strategies to teach. I feel it is important for all students to get the chance to be successful in math, and to carry on their problem solving skills into life after high school.

There is work that is work and there is play that is play; there is play that is work and work that is play. And in only one of these lie happiness. ~ Gelett Burgess

We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have. ~ Frederick Koenig
