Pronounced:  Meech-ka (but it's OK if you don't get it right away)

Pronouns: she/her

I am a reading specialist who teaches literacy workshop and interpersonal skills (IPS).  I also coach Unified Sports, a Special Olympic sponsored program to bring sporting opportunities to all students. We compete in basketball in the fall and soccer in the spring. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

LHS has been my home for 15 years! Previously I spent two years teaching in Hungary and Slovakia and three years at J.C. Harmon High School in KCK.  I have taught every grade level except 7th grade. I also view education through the eyes of a parent as I have three kids, two at LHS and one at Cordley Elementary. Student relationships are very important to me and I believe they are the key to growth. I love the relationships I builds with my students and they keep me looking forward to each day.

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to reach me by email.  I check it frequently and reply at the soonest possible time.

  • Distance Learning

IPS and Literacy Workshop classes will be taught through WebEx Meetings, at least the first week, and all classwork resources and assignments will be housed in Google Classroom.  All students on the roster have already been enrolled in Google Classroom. On the first day of class, students can access the WebEx link either through Google Classroom or through the email they receive from me.

Can't find the link to get into class? Just send me an email and I will respond immediately.  Schedules will shift and change these first few days, so I will do my best to add students into the Google Classroom as they enroll.
