Mr. Bill Kelly
William L. Kelly (Bill) joined the Lawrence High School faculty in 2010 after teaching 30+ years at South Junior High School and Patton Junior High School at Fort Leavenworth in Leavenworth, Kansas. Prior to his formal teaching career, Bill was a 10 year veteran of the Lawrence Police Department and school resource officer for the City of Lawrence. Bill is a 1969 LHS graduate (once a Lion always a Lion!) and graduated from Kansas University as well as earning a Master’s degree from Baker University. He has coached various sports throughout his teaching career and is currently coaching the Pole Vault with the LHS Track and Field team. Bill’s wife, Carolyn, and their three children are all LHS graduates are PROUD TO BE LIONS!
“I enjoy the positive side of building relationships with students and sharing my experiences with those that are just beginning to learn from theirs. My philosophy in life is to give back to others, in repayment for all those that gave me direction in my life. I do not believe we are put on this earth for ourselves but for helping others.”
