Ms. Jennifer Hare
Subject: Health Sciences
Classes I teach: Intro to Health Science and Biomedicine, Pre-med 1, and Pre-med 2
I am the Health Science (Pre-med) teacher at LHS. While attending high school in my home state of Wyoming, I pursued my interest in blood and broken bones by working as a student athletic trainer. I shadowed my mentor, Mr. Bart Peterson ATC, for three years. His guidance set me on a path to Northern Arizona University, where I earned my B.S. in Community Health Education with a minor in Athletic Training. While I was at NAU I also obtained my teaching certification. I moved to Connecticut after graduation, and worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and science teacher at a local high school. I moved to Kansas in 2005 with my family and took time off to raise my young children. I returned to teaching seven years ago when my dream job became available at LHS. I love teaching students about all aspects of health care, and helping them prepare for their next chapter in life. I utilize my athletic training knowledge and skills to bring real life experience to the classroom. In Kansas, I am certified to teach Biology, Health, and FACS. When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling with my husband, Larry, and our children Mason and Elizabeth. I like to stay up all night finishing a great book and in the spring, I like to garden.
