Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Mark Preut

Greetings, my name is Mark Preut and I am the associate principal (students whose last names begin with A-E) and have been at Lawrence High since the summer of 2011. After graduating from Olathe High School, I attended the University of Kansas where I graduated with a BA in political science with a concentration in international relations and Soviet studies. In the midst of a political science master’s program at KU, I switched to education and completed the Graduate Certification Program completing my student teaching at LHS. I taught social studies for 14 years (the last four of which I was both teaching and an administrator) at Maur Hill Prep in Atchison, KS and completed my master of arts in education administration at Benedictine College in 2002. I served as the principal at Atchison County Community High School for seven years before coming to Lawrence High.

I am excited to return to the school where my career began (both student teaching and my first job!) and that is my wife’s alma mater. I am a student of history and I love the history and tradition at the Lawrence High School. My other duties include serving as the activities director and AVID administrator. I truly enjoy coming to school every day and working with the great staff and students at LHS. It is a great day to be a lion.
