Welcome to Vocal Music @SWMS!  

I’m thrilled to be starting my 11th year of public school teaching and my 26th year of teaching music!

Most of my public school teaching experience has been in Austin, TX, where I had the honor of teaching award-winning middle school choir and jazz band, as well as drum line and rock band. 

I’m a vocalist, keyboard player, electric bass player and compose electronic music.  I’ve also had the good fortune to perform jazz and R&B with groups from Seattle to Spain.  With my varied background, I bring a fresh perspective to the middle school music curriculum.  My mission is to provide rigorous but fun music instruction for all students at every level.     

When I'm not doing music, I enjoy walking my dogs around our berry farm, going to jazz shows in KC with my husband, and creating fiber art!
