"Growing old is mandatory...Growing up, is optional"

Rimmey spent the last 16 and a half years teaching Social Sciences and coaching Speech and Debate at Topeka High School. However, in deciding to look for other opportunities, he ran to apply for the opening at LMCMS because he believes in the power of a STEAM model of education, and how it has the potential to create real world connections with all content areas in addition to making students ready for our ever-changing future! He's also a huge advocate of using a variety of educational technology, and has spent the past year investigating the best ways to incorporate AI in the classroom.

Rimmey graduated from Emporia State University in 2007 with a BSEd in Social Sciences and Speech/Theatre. It is also where he met his amazing wife Emily, who is also the mother to their three children, who are all attending Sunflower Elementary this year. In July, Rimmey graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with an MA in Public History. If you cannot find Rimmey in his classroom or out playing with his kiddos, he's probably reading comic books, listening to pop punk or emo, playing World of Warcraft or doing something related to Dungeons and Dragons!
